How the Blazer EV Moves
When you look underneath the gorgeous exterior of the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV, you will see a BEV3 platform. It's what is known as a skateboard in the industry, and its is made with a chassis that consists of a battery pack, a couple of electric motors, and several suspension components. These types of engines are prevalent among the EV community as they can be modified to suit all sorts of different vehicles in all kinds of segments without being completely redesigned. The Blazer EV comes with an Ultium battery tech and will be available in rear, front, and all-wheel-drive configurations, making it the first vehicle in history with both front-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive. As for power, most entry-level modes should top out around 300 horsepower, while the range-topping SS will get 557 horsepower and 648 lb-ft of torque while reaching 60 mph in 4 seconds or less. Depending on the trim level, the Blazer can get up to 320 miles of range. Best of all, you can juice the Blazer EV with level 2 charging with rates up to 11.5 kW.Â
Inside the Chevy Blazer EV
Those who sit in the front seat of the 2024 Blazer Ev will be treated to a spectacular 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen. While most of the interior of the Blazer remains untouched by the gas-powered model, there are a few changes which include a third air vent that is located under the touchscreen and a new transmission level that will replace the regular shifter found in the center console. In addition, the driver will get an 11-inch digital instrument panel and some more ambient lighting. Meanwhile, the more sporty RS and SS modes come with some distinct touches that set them apart from other trim levels. All versions of the Blazer EV come with a ton of space, and a hands-free opening tailgate that will open with the key fob is anywhere near the vehicle.
Tech for the Blazer EV
Topping the list for the Blazer EV's tech is the superb Super Cruise semi-automated driving system which you can use on some major highways and interstates. It's also easy and practical to use. There is also a navigation system that will take care of route planning, keep charging stations in mind, and use some predictive range calculations so that you will always have enough juice to get from place to place. Then there are the safety features via Chevy's Safety Assist suite. Included in this package are things like automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams, with the option for verse automatic braking and an automated parking system. Several over-the-air updates are available as well, including a power-operated charge door.
